Cick here for Irish Music!
From Bach to Beiber
Here is a little presentation that I've put together to help us see how music composed by past great Composers has helped to shape the music that we know and love today. It also shows some examples of Fusion, which is a key concept on our Music course.

Notes on the stave - Pitch
Girls! Here are a few tunes to help you remember the notes on the stave :-)
Dynamics
When we listen to music, one of the features that makes it interesting to listen to are the DYNAMICS.
In a song, an example would be when the singer sings really soft for a moment and then bursts into the big final chorus.
In a piece of music, an example would be when the solo instrument plays a sad melody and then the orchestra join in with a loud response.
This is a fun video to show the very basic dynamics - piano, pianissimo, forte, fortissimo and crescendo

Tempo
Tempo means Speed!
When we listen to a song or a piece of music we can comment on the tempo - in otherwords how fast or slow the music is.
Texture
There are three main types of texture in music - Monophonic, Homophonic and Polyphonic
Texture means to layer sound - we begin with one sound and we we can build other layers on top of that to create a different texture
Here are some helpful videos for you to watch that describes each texture for you!
